About the Course
Target Audience: The symposium attracts orthopaedic surgeons, non-operative sports medicine physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers, nurses, and physician assistants to learn about the latest techniques in cartilage repair. With a focus on basic science, we also attract the best scientists and engineers to present their cutting edge work.
Statement of Need: The symposium will include invited talks by key thought leaders in the field of cartilage biology, biomaterials, stem cells, tissue engineering, animal models, and imaging, as well as clinical methods for the treatment of cartilage damage in the knee. Speakers will also discuss rehabilitative protocols that promote successful recovery.
The intent of this meeting is to build consensus, informed by clinical practice and basic and translational research, to define new directions in the field that will drive the treatment of cartilage injuries in the knee from the current status of repair towards the promise of regeneration.
Physical Therapists: An application has been submitted to the Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapy for approval of physical therapy contact hours to be awarded to physical therapists attending this conference. Approval is pending.
We are not offering CME at this conference.
